We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed individual with extensive experience in financial management for nonprofits. Candidates must have deep expertise in nonprofit accounting and substantial experience running a finance department. This position offers the flexibility of 100% remote work.
Experience:
20+ years of nonprofit accounting, demonstrating proficiency in managing an organization’s accounting and finances, preferably in the arts sector.
Extensive experience and comfort in leading financial strategy creation for organizations.
Extensive experience in leading a finance department and managing all aspects of financial operations including accounting software and transactions management.
Extensive experience in creating financial management documents for both board and staff.
Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
Please note: All candidates must have experience working directly in a finance department.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to train staff on complex financial concepts.
Ability to create and implement organization-wide systems.
Ability to review high level work to ensure accuracy.
Proven ability to effectively manage 3-5 direct reports and drive projects to completion.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Finance Intern. This role will provide support across multiple Arts FMS client teams and is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial administration within the arts sector. This role will give the individual the opportunity to attend meetings with a wide range of clients in the arts sector and give them visibility into their operations.
Responsibilities
Assist with financial administration, including data entry, reporting, and record-keeping.
Schedule meetings and coordinate communications between internal teams and clients.
Support project-based work across multiple non-profit arts organizations.
Provide general administrative assistance as needed.
Qualifications
Administrative experience, preferably within the arts sector.
Currently pursuing a Masters degree or completed a Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple time-sensitive priorities.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and Quickbooks Online is a plus.
A genuine interest in and passion for the performing and/or visual arts.
Position Details
Dates: June - August 2025 with the possibility of extension
Work Hours: 20-40 hours/week, company work hours are 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Eastern Time.
Work Location: 100% remote, based in the United States.
Compensation: $16.50/hour
